Yes, I think a center column feature on this stuff would be great -- my
critique was really just about that particular proposal.

If you have a list of links to make into a center feature, that seems
fine to me.  And really, if it's a list of links, I actually think
presenting it just as a list of links is best (and incidentally easiest
:) -- I'm not a big fan of having a paragraph with inline links to
various topics.  If the target page's title isn't a good indication of
what the page's value or content, then either using a slightly different
title or giving some short note on the page after the link (like, 15
words or less) is sufficient -- often the title will work fine, though.

Given a list of links -- which requires research, of course -- it
shouldn't be too hard to make that into a feature.
