I went through my calendar lists and here are story ideas that jumped out at
me. Top of the list is the march for Rabih Haddad tomorrow night, which can
be related to other context to form a quality center column feature.
What jumps out at me even more, and that I would feel ashamed not to
recognize is the event of;
Sunday 3 PM: Largest gathering of exonerated former death row prisoners
ever. Meet
the 102 innocent people rescued from death row.
WHERE: Northwestern University School of Law Thorne Auditorium, 375 E.
Chicago
CONTACT: cwc@law.northwestern.edu or 312-503-3604
102 is a lot of peolple, I'm guessing most are minorities also. I
really didn't want to come into the city so soon, but I am tempted for the
sake of building a quality center column. Chris G.- did you have any plans
on this, being Criminal Injustice? Do we have any idea on the format- I
imagine some people will speak, but then will the 102 be mixing with people?
providing informal time to interview and portraits?
3rd best story I think is;
SUNDAY, DECEMBER 15
10:00 AM: Open Forum: Sarita Gupta , a national organizer for Jobs with
Justice, located in Chicago, will speak on Localizing the Movement for
Global Justice. How does corporate globalization affect our cities and
neighborhoods? Our jobs? Our families? What can we do?
WHERE: Third Unitarian Church, 301 North Mayfield, two blocks east and one
block south of Austin Boulevard and Lake Street (Green Line)
CONTACT: Call (773) 626-9385.
The success of a center column on this would be an enthusiastic and
creatively strong writer.
lastly, I thought this was an interesting development, glad to see folks
empowering themselves rather than just complaining. Libraries are such
noble things too.

I don't see any possible stories with pictures on the newswire to scarf and
make a center column about. if we want it we will have to make it. How's
about some feedback on lead stories?
