re: interfaith vigil
I was suggesting fleshing out a feature, after the event, by using:
the text below for description of the event -- which is
interesting, just a bit colorful
adding:
a sentence on the turnout
a sentence on a main issue pt or two
a link and sentence to report if that, photo or not
links perhpas to any other upcoming other peace features locally
or just to some calendars...
That is a short story block, not just cribbing.
It is the short story block idea in general that I'm wondering about. Are
we ok with that format now, as in the current top feature?
After posting the previous note, I had been thinking of going down to cover
this. Now, I'm not sure, given that folks are debating puting up other
features, instead of this. The way that newswire stories scroll off the
local newswire, well... sacrificing weekend time, which is precious,
really, is hard to get motivated for.
Have we had an inter-faith peace center column feature before?
Note: supporting this was based on supporting Garth's suggestion of it,
amongst others stories, and then seeing that there was a post for it on the
wire. Seems good to support well networked events/actions that happen in
Chicago that are posted to the wire. If there are other more *important*
stories somehow, well ok... But, it does seem ok to post more than one
story in a day... not sure if we have to choose one story over
another... is it just a matter of if we have effort...
The pre-approval idea sounded like something to try for as editorial
approval seems to be a recurring difficulty for the features group.

I agree with Garth on preapproval for a feature on this:
