Elizabeth here. I hate to chime in on the money thing--because
I haven't followed from the beginning, so I don't know what
ground has already been covered; however, Crossroads (Indy's
bunk mates over on Diversey) funds many local organizations
NEIS, Casa Guatemala, Not in Our Name, Couraj, RPCAN...)
I remember that we didn't meet some requirement they had a
while back (whether it was 501(c)3 or some other type of
nonprofit status, I'm not sure... but maybe someone from Crossroads
would be willing to brainstorm with the group on ways to
make a cooperative funding venture work?
Just a thought. [Now back to my PC, which has decided to get the
hiccoughs the past week... I've got some elderly bones to tend to
on the beast. It hasn't been eating right.] -- eliz

somenon-capitalist tech coops
Doug, all,
I like the fundamental concept of this "buffer" idea. Does anyone know of
existing collectives for this that are parallel in function to the tech
collectives that Doug posted about? In other words, how feasible is this,
and what legal implications would we have to anticipate?
