[CIMC-working] grant notes to do: a general note? contact barcelona, melbourne, and athens imcs? analysis note?

Hi all,

Based on feedback from Chris and Garth in the positive about grant 
positions, I would like to work with anyone on starting to draft outreach 
notes about funds and solidarity.

Anyone interested in helping write/edit such notes?

Ian has raised some important points about existing support of imc in terms 
of bandwidth. And, various local ims have already received grants. We need 
to include these issues at some point in possible call for analysis and 
discussion/postion notes. Elizabeth mentioned talking to cross roads folks 
about ideas for coop fundraising -- that soulds like good idea.

If we can make concrete proposals to the chicago list before the next 
meeting, this Sunday, that would be great.

Such as, drafts of:

1. a note to possible imc local allies in barcelona, melbourne, and athens 
imcs

2. a general note of info and request for discussion about the tmf and 
soros grant situ to imc-comm and finance newtork lists

3. a note outlining some points for analysis and discussion about grant and 
funding issues (see draft notes earlier this week).

(1. and 2 can be short; do we have energy/time for 3 -- perhaps that could 
be done by several individuals?)

So,
Shall we contact the barcelona, melbourne, and athens imcs and suggest that 
we dialog?
Note: these locals seem to share our positions on ethics of funding -- 
having written statements with similar concerns in relation to the ford 
grant in Sept -- barcelona and melbourne on target with us and athens 
seeming similar.
