[CIMC-working] deadline: note to uc imc

Hi all,

I agree with Chris: we need further comments from chicago imc participants on 
some of the current imc global and local issues.  

Here is an announcement from the last chicago imc meeting. Not sure it was 
clear, so to restate:

The deadline of 12/26 was decided for comments on a revised note to send out 
about the Tactical media fund proposal to the Soros osi foundation.

Chris K and I later discussed as a first step just sending that note to the UC 
imc listserv and some other organizers active in creating the tmf.  This is 
because several creators of the tmf proposal have expressed concerns about 
problems with the proposal.  It makes sense to see where they are at about the 
tmf proposal where it is at before releasing concerns to the imc network.

The letter linked above seems approved, past deadline.  So, I'll send that 
tomorrow to uc imc, if there are no further comments.  

Meanwhile, as discussed at the meeting and online, it seems a good idea to 
write a short note to the Barcelona, Melbourne, and Athens imcs about the tmf 
situation.  They have written statements on grants similar to the one Chicago 
sent to imc main lists in early November.

As part of this, it seems a very good idea to now start talking again about 
exploring constructive plans in network discussion about:
  strategies for imc network
  grassroots fundraising efforts
  network decisionmaking and planning processes

I'll draft a short note about that for those imcs and propose it for release in 
a week or so.
