This was sent to the global www-features list to inform them about decision
on the feature title and to clarify further the response to an inquiry
there about how we decide about features:
Josh and all,
The feature title for the TABD block has been finalized: actions against
corporate vampires.
If you wouldn't mind changing the word "vampirism" (perhaps a rather vague
neologism) to "vampires" in the story archive, that would be great.
The problem was: The folks trying to finish of the feature block could not
contact anybody.
The person who corrected the title tried calling 9 people. Everybody was
out and about.
And in summary as far as process:
In Chicago, we have an editorial working group that implements new features
by consensus.
For pre-planned special actions/events action, we usually ask a couple of
people volunteer to be point persons to edit story blocks for the center
panel quickly as events develop. That process fell through the cracks this
time. Oh well... we'll probably remember next time.
Best, Doug
