[CIMC-working] sergeant's request

Chris, your message is a bit unclear to me. It does sound like you're oppos=
ed to responding in any way, but at the same time you express some neutra=
lity in saying there's no upside or downside in responding.

I agree with the message and sentiments expressed in Ian's draft, but perha=
ps the issue is do we trust the sergeant and his role/operations in the f=
irst place to respond, and do we see any advantage to submitting a respon=
se instead of ignoring his request altogether. Certainly we are not oblig=
ated to respond, but can we see fulfilling any interest of our own in doi=
ng so?

If we cannot reasonably expect to secure press privileges, whatever those m=
ay be, as distinguished from any other person writing in a notebook or to=
ting a video camera, then I'd say why bother?

So I guess I'm still kind of open to more discussion.

Chris

I'm assuming Chris K's note below refers to the query from the Chicago poli=
ce=20
department re TABD actions. I personally am uncatagorically opposed to=20
responding to this request in any way. This is a stock query from them, and=
 I=20
see no upside -- or downside, for that matter -- in responding to same.
