Chris K,
Having just seen Chris G's comment, I completely agree that we need not and
should not respond. We have over many years learned that they cannot be
trusted. E.g. the 1996 Dem Ntl Convention.
We have nothing to gain by answering them and do not know why they are
going on such a fishing expedition, other than to imply "we are watching
you" and to learn our plans (if any).
We also do not know to which other organizations they sent such messages.
It is incomprehensible that the Chicago Police Department would ever grant
press "privileges" to any "untamed" organization. Our individaul and
collective 1st amendment rights are quite sufficient.
We do not seek any special (compromised, divided-from-our-allies) status.
Certainly, in the sort time available, we should not meet with them, and
if/when we do it should be with an attorney and many other organizations.
