[CIMC-work] WIDC

Ian,s got good points. There are some levels to the WIDC proposal. the
first is to have monthly screenings for $150, which is actually a reduction
of their regular price of $250, mainly because we would do it as an ongoing
thing. We have enough support to make this happen and I am taking the risk
and calling it Consensus. Matt wants to get the film material, I'm excited
to put effort into it, same with MLE, Chris and Dick expressed need to do
screenings to raise dough, etc.

The office is another issue. The video people are slowly growing, but
surely. Thomas Yun has been a key person to organize their energys. The
best thing we can do for them is to let them know they have our support as a
media network. If they get it together where they want to use space at WIDC
then that is a separate option. They will have to decide it's good for them
and raise money to do so.

Text/photo/audio are pertinent things we should pay more attention to. I am
supportive of doing trainings that are more directive in nature. If
volunteers want to be told what to do, let's tell them. I think organizers
have been too busy to write anything beyond press releases. I would like to
take responsibility for photo and do trainings to get people producing.

We've done an awful lot of good work with a minimal amount of people. I
think we should make a concerted effort to get more people on board to add
momentum to our energy. 3-4 people who were into writing, two or three more
who took pics, a couple more people able to do center features, this would
make a big difference.

I'm for holding off on the office and putting more energy into outreach and
trainings. Then we will have more of a committed base to support an office
with hours.
