[CIMC-work] Today's Homework (December 3)

(1) I'm going to send the draft of the CIMC workshop to the Chicago
Social Forum people. I'll throw $25 their way when I get the chance,
and ask the collective for reimbursement at the next CIMC meeting. The
nice thing about the workshop is that the description is sufficiently
loose so that we can incorporate Garth's photo-training workshop, or
anything else that we decide to do.

(2) Regarding Garth's point of sending the letter: don't send it just
yet. I've discovered a couple of points in the letter where I forgot to
type in some additional words. I'll send a revised draft to this
list sometime in the next day or so, as time permits.

(3) Rita, I'll work on revising the UIC Anthrax center panel in
light of the points you made earlier. I'll send a revised draft to this
list sometime in the next day or so, as time permits.

(4) I have a suggestion that we (maybe I) should do during December: The
2003 Chicago Indymedia Year in Review. A massive article (or series of
articles) summarizing the year in Chicago political activism (break
it down by categories: the war in Iraq, gay rights, civil liberties, media
activism, global justice, etc., etc.). I'm ambitious
(read: foolhardy) enough to want to take a first crack at this, but I'd
first ask the collective: what do you think of the idea? Worth
pursuing? (Emily, Garth: Would either of you be interested in crafting
a suitable thumbnail?)

Note: I'm going to be in sporadic email contact for the next two
evenings. I'm wearing an all-black suit and tie as I type
this, and going to the opera tonight with my punk look. --;-)

Thanks.
