hola mis amigos,
mandy and i cooked up this clever plan to raise funds to go to nyc this
weekend. got it figured out pretty cheap, but apparently this world costs
money (!?!?). If you guys wouldn't mind forwarding it to any appropriate
lists/people you might know I would really appreciate it. thanks, garth

Hello,
I want to let people know that Mandy and I are raising money for our
trip to NYC this weekend. To do this we are offering prints of our Peace
Photography in exchange for a suggested ten dollar donation for each nicely
printed 8x10" black and white print.
For each donation you would be able to choose from one of 20+ plus
pictures from this Saturday's exciting rally of some of the most wonderful
peace people. We will have our pictures available for choosing on the
internet by Sunday if all goes well or by Wednesday at the very latest. We
will also promptly print the pictures during the week and you should receive
them in the mail by the following week.
Mandy is a senior at the Chicago Art Institute and has been involved in
the peace movement both as a photographer and as an organizer with SAIC-No
War (School of the Art Inst. of Chicago) as well as a very good
photographer. For those that don't know me so well, I am a DeKalb native
who has just moved to Chicago. I have been active with DeKalb Interfaith
Network for Peace and Justice and am now active in being a liason amongst
regional organizers west of Chicago. I have been involved in social justice
photography for about three years since I graduated NIU. I work actively
with the Chicago IndyMedia collective. Www.Chicago.Indymedia is an open
posting website which has become the main news source for the Chicago
anti-war movement. We strive to give special attention to community based
anti-war groups in Northern Illinois in our Main Features section of the
website.
The Iraq Peace Pledge recently staged a Die-In at Chicago's Federal
building. Mandy and I provided coverage and it was made into a Feature on
the Chicago Indymedia website. If you go to www.chicago.indymedia.org and
look in the center column, you will see the feature with links to our
pictures.
We were both also able to go to Washington D.C. on January 18th for the
large ANSWER Peace Rally;

Mandy and I are not doing this to make a profit. Any excess money will
be rolled over into funding furthur coverage of peace events. Our mission
is to use our talents to furthur the culture of peace. We feel it's
important to show that the hundreds of thousands of people for peace have
faces, and they are beautiful.
We are excited to hear your reply as soon as possible so we can plan
accordingly. Even if you do not want to commit now to a number of pictures
please let us know if you are interested and would like to be notified when
the pictures are available. If you would like to commit now (which would be
super helpful) please contact us and we will send furthur information.
Thank you very much, and may we stop this war. garthandmandy
