topic based IMC's though have a much harder time connecting to a
community, as local imc's can. topic based imc's remain kind of solely on
the internet, collecting isolated folks who are interested in that topic.
the sense of community is then only through the internet.
my understanding is that the imc movement is about community and media,
not solely media.
but, i'm not opposed to topic based imc's. just think they're on another
track, which can be useful....variety prevents consistency.

I think the IMC network should support different groups which come together
