[CIMC-working] weighin-in on proposal: index of global posts

This is elizabeth (tech)--I know I'd be more likely to follow a weekly
compilation. Notes on issues that really apply to chicago or our region
would be a big help. (I confess that when I saw all the bickering coming
from a few other groups--I stopped reading. A compilation with a note
on what really needs our attention would be a big help.)--eliz

Subject: [CIMC-working] proposal: index of global posts

Hi Chris and all,

There are a lot of important global imc network posts going onto mailing
lists these days.

It looks like the imc network might reorganize regionally or go to a new
level of decentralized coordination in the next half year. There maybe
lots of strategy talk at local, regional and global network levels. This
will generate a whole lot of posts.

To start to track this now, I suggest that Chris and others present a
weekly or every two week index of important posts, organized by mailing
list and topic.

If there are a whole lot of messages, several indexes in one week could be
created, e.g., finance, process/strategy/resolve, tech...

Any time critical or key global posts could be released individually.

Discussions of posts locally would of course generate our own strings.

I suggest we discuss and approve something like this at the next c-imc
meeting this Sunday.

Thinking how to make this doable:
Perhaps we could team up with a couple of other locals to create weekly
summaries for locals, so that one person doesn't bear this burden. I think
UK imc does some of this.

Very helpful in this is the initiative started by Roving and Rona in the
global network summaries wg to call for summaries of various lists. Such
summaries are being created now and sent out by the summaries list. But,
those could be a bit overwhelming to follow. What I am talking about above
is different: sort of a summary of the summaries for general local interest
with links to a handful key posts...

Best, Doug
