Network For Good actually lists several organizations that will take
donations, Network For Good included:
http://www.networkforgood.org/npo/fundraising/fund_resources/toolsfund.html
To do Network For Good, they want you to register with GuideStar, which
seems to be some sort of NPO registry, that involves reports on the
charities and other stuff I'm not clear on. Very 501c3 oriented -- to
start the registration you need a Employer Identification Number.
Anyway, looking through the other options, none of them impress -- many
of them have fees that exceed Paypal's, and it would probably be a
struggle since we aren't a 501c3 -- even if we can go through 8th Day,
it will just be confusing. Anyone making a donation large enough that
they really care about the tax deduction can probably write a check.
If we were a 501c3 I'm sure there would be lots of good alternatives.
But for now I see no reason why there'd be any option better than
Paypal.
