Emily and all,
    Looked at the work, like it lots.  Here is some critique on website;

I think the PUBLISH button should look more prominent and as friendly and
accessible as possible.

I think the 'newswire', 'publish', and 'about' that exists below the red
block with text of "bypass the corporate media..." should go as they are
duplicates of the better buttons almost directly above them. Keep the left
column functions as they are though.

Colors are good. One may think that there should be more colors, BUT,
remember that the center column thumbnails usually end up being noisy
splotches of color. Let these be the 'splashes of color'. Otherways it
will be too noisy.

I don't think it looks too sinister, rather on the classy side. I think if
the design evolves, it should lean to being friendly and accessible. Yet
maintaining a sense of quality. Sense of quality is important. Stay away
from angry ranting look.

I like where the other materials are going, but I have to go now, so furthur
input will have to wait. Your work excites me about being involved in
Indymedia, Emily. I think that this is also an important part to the growth
of the project.             ciao, Garth
