Dear IMC

According to www.Oprah.com The Oprah Winfrey Show is looking for people
(primarily Chicago locals) who oppose a war in Iraq and who would like to
appear as a guest (not an audience member) on an upcoming show.

Now I know that some of you out there might scoff at the prospect of being a
guest on the Oprah Winfrey show, and fair enough. However, as an indication
of potential sympathy towards dissenting voices, last November she did have
on Michael Moore in promotion of "Bowling for Columbine". I know that I was a
bit surprised when I saw that one. And it wasn't simply a flat or passive
interview. Throughout the show she was extremely supportive of Mr. Moore and
enthusiastically endorsing of his film and insights. Her website too has a
surprising degree of Iraq objectivity, featuring a near majority of expert
opinions that suggest caution and restraint in Iraq.

As a news source Oprah may be far from the ideal objectivity I long for in
the media, but the above mentioned production tendencies do suggest, at the
very least, her tolerance and interest in counter culture issues. At any rate
though, regardless of what you may think of her politics, she is at this
moment actively looking for anti war voices and given the magnitude of her
influence and audience, this is a tremendous opportunity.

To submit your interest in appearing, simply visit www.oprah.com and on her
home page to the right hand side at the bottom of a yellowish box (full of
various in-site links), you will find the "Be on The Oprah Winfrey Show" link
under the "Your Story" sub section. If you click on this link you will be
taken to lists of upcoming show topics and if you scroll down this list you
will find a number of Iraq show guest calls to fill out.

Please pass this along to anyone who might wish to capitalize on this
opportunity.

Thanks and best of luck.
