i'm going to the printer's row book fair tomorrow to leaflet. posters to come this weekend. rate cards for the media guide also to follow. here's the proposal i sent to buddy. all of my email from one of my addresses is taking 1 to 2 days to process. i blame TIA.

4 pm to midnight, Friday July 4, $10 or less. 

We, The Media is a 4th of July celebration for makers
and supporters of independent media. It's a party
where people will have the opportunity to:
• participate in interactive theater and arts activities
• enjoy local music and performance
• screen locally-produced films
• learn about Chicago's independent publishers and radio
• eat, drink and get to know each other

Come in costume!


Possible events/displays: 
• Anything produced during Freedom Fest
• Live music (later)
• improv/theater performance
• live broadcast radio
• film screenings
• panel discussion
• giant paint-by-number FCC board
• game shows
• passion play
• puppet show
• media drop box
• zine trade
• costume contest
• the chance to throw tomatoes and other goodies at GW and his cronies. (outside, of course.)

We will also have a space where various media groups
or outlets can table and sell their wares. We will
have independent radio stations, newspapers, media
groups. We have invited/are inviting at least 20
different groups, from these groups and others, we
also will compile a comprehensive local media guide to
hopefully give away. And of course, we officially ask
Lumpen to have a presence at our event. Pretty Please.


Technical needs: DVD/VHS projector, some one who knows how to run the equipment, space, chairs, a broom and a few tables. We will make sure we leave everything as we found it.
