regionally?

Hi all,
For those interested, at the end of tonight's meeting...
We decided to hold a Chicago imc strategy meeting on regional and global
issues for:
the first Wed of April, April 2, at 7:00 pm at the imc office space.
In talking after tonight's cimc meeting, these points came up...
On regional stuff...
Some key points to consider and discuss about regional issues are:
1. What do locals in our region (which is?) want and need to do together,
if anything?
2. In various imc regions, and national imc groups, what is being done and
what is working working well in terms of inter-imc local-to-local
interactions, networking, projects, etc.?
Note: We -- someone(s) -- would need to talk with national locals such as
Argentina, Brazil, Italy, Germany, UK and other imc groups (with multiple
local imcs) about what is and is not working for them in their inter-local
cooperation. Various models for inter-imc local cooperation are being
created in practice by these imcs.
3. Might existing/evolving practices of inter-imc cooperation be helpful in
Illinois or in the midwest? (Needs to be taken in context of point 1. above.)
Also: See next note for a few links to recent key global posts that can be
discussed at this meeting.
Discussions about this stuff can go on before during and after various
protests and meetings...
As a *goal*:
In a few months, it would be fantastic and a contribution to imc locals and
networks to come up with some sort of description and even proposals, based
on existing and evolving practices and ideas, about grassroots regional and
global organizing practices that we find interesting, helpful, etc.
Or, at least, we could generate and boil down somehow some ideas about what
works/can work regionally here anyway...
Comments?
Best,
Doug
