OK, couple of important things.
1) There is a slight possiblity that the night of our benefit the vast
majority of our supporters may in fact be in the streets. If necesary, do we
want to consider 'postponing' (till April 25 -- our next date for the Buddy
space) the Friday event should this be the case? If so, I suggest a notice on
the site's center panel block (maybe moved up to top page) saying 'postponed
till April 25 -- get out in the streets!' We may not be able to make a final
decision about this until Thursday, but I want to test the waters on this.
I've spoken w/both Ed and Jackie of the Select project/Buddy space, and they
are totally fine with this.
2) Beer (Corona) and pop (generic cola and ginger ale) PLUS ice are being
fronted by Souk, which is literally two doors down from Buddy. Contact there
is Mahmud Ahmad, hammerhard's dear friend (yay, Mahmud!). We just need to
cover wholesale costs for whatever we sell (we have to eat ALL the pop,
though, since they are ordering this specially for us). They do NOT have
icing containers to lend us. Crap. Does anybody have/can anybody bring a
couple of carry-able bins (metal or plastic, wider rather than deeper, like
roughly 2-3 feet wide and no more than a foot or two deep) in which to ice
the beer/pop?
3) It is absolutely imperative that people let this list know IMMEDIATELY
what video shorts they have in hand/are proposing to screen for the two Video
Resistance segments. I am expecting to get a 9 minute anti-war piece from
Maine momentarily, and Labor Beat is also sending me a segment that I think
is around 20 minutes long -- plus, I've gotten queries back from a couple
people that may actually be bringing their stuff in Fri. even. Also, the
Buddy people are getting me copies of both Select v1.0 and v2.0, which should
have some stuff on it that we want to screen. WHAT ELSE are we screening?
OK, that's it for now.
