Alright -- I think we have consensus that if war starts on Friday (or
late Thursday) then we need to cancel the fundraiser. If war doesn't
start tonight, it will be hard to know if it will start Thursday or
Friday -- though Friday somehow seems unlikely.
Chris needs to buy the beer tomorrow morning, so we should decide before
then. To be practical, I think to we need to decide by like 10pm
tonight.
If war starts tonight, after 5, then I expect something will still
happen tonight at Federal Plaza, but some rally will also happen on
Friday, even if that means three rallies. We chould still be a nice
place for people to wind down, but I think our own attention will not be
on organizing this -- we have other things we need to focus on.
So I'm leaning towards cancelling it now. To summarize, I believe Emily
supports cancelling, and I think Rita supports cancelling as well. I
just talked with Chris, and she was all vague, because I can't even
remember what she really wanted to do (she wants to do both)... none of
us *wants* to cancel after doing all these preparations, but we also all
want to cancel so we can focus on more pressing matters.
I think we have consensus on cancelling, even if none of us are happy
with it. I won't update the website yet, but without feedback to the
contrary I will do so late tonight.
