Word is that the announcement about the G-8, 2004 will be made at the end of 
the G-8 Summit in Evian, France on June 1-4.  While we have had 'informal; 
confirmation by several alderman that Daley is bidding to bring it here in 
2004, any info about the actual location is kept secret by summit organizers 
until after the the last day...although the official site acknowleges that 
the US will be the host country in June, 2004.  No official acknowledgement 
of the Chicago bid by any city agencies to date. 

IMHO, if  Chicago is selected, it will be critical  to have a center panel 
feature in the can and ready to go by the end of the Evian summit.
