[CIMC-work] RLR meeting notes

just got back from rlr meeting. 

1. is anyone interested in helping to organize an action on the weekend before June 2--FCC vote? the vote is on June 2 now, i heard from Mitchell and Karen from CMA. I'm going to buddy tomorrow night and will try to talk to Jeff (if he's there) so see if they're interested. 

2. proposed "Independent Media Celebration" or something to that effect to take place on the weekend of July 4, or on July 4 itself. Friday? try to get as many media groups together as possible to organize a celebration of independent media in Chicago. I'm working on getting a permit for outside, with an option for a shelter if it rains. we have mitchell working on equipment from UIC. thinking about making an independent media guide for outlets in/around the city. need to talk to other groups. any suggestions? so far, this is a partnership btw CMA, IMC and RLR. and a way to raise some bucks. the preliminary organizing meeting is going to be this weekend sometime, probably saturday afternoon. who's up for that? i'm going to probably be the point person for it and need help/representation from cimc. any ideas? i want to market this and brand it for the three groups. get our names out. look like we know what we're doing. reach more people than the same people who come to everything. 

3. just thinking: we should have another screening in june. anyone up for that? i'm getting antsy since we haven't had a meeting in so long.
