[CIMC-work] PLEASE RESPOND!! WIDC SCREENING

There is no way we can put together a screening in less than two weeks, 
especially w/efforts to field a crew in Miami (currently Kely Leiser w/be doing 
print for us, Joeff Davis w/be shooting stills, and I'm working on lining up a 
few more volunteer correspondents). I say we shoot for a date after Jan. 1, and 
just tell WIDC there is no way we can get organized on such short notice.

On a related note, I had a long conversation tonight w/Joanie Sekler, who 
codirected "Unprecendented" with Richard Ray Perez. It's currently playing on the 
Sundance Channel and touring around the country to rave reviews -- including 
in Chicago on November 23 at the Siskal Film Center. I've agreed to help her 
with outreach for the Chicago screening. On a related note, she's putting 
together a 3-day traveling film festival that will include 'Unprecedented' and a 
bunch of other flicks, possibly also including the new Denis Mueller/Deb Ellis 
doc on Howard Zinn. She'd be thrilled if Chicago Indymedia would take the lead 
on assembling the film festival for Chicago, with LA providing any content we 
want, as well as tactical support, et al. I think we should do this -- and I 
think it's very doable. OK if I run with this? I propose we consider 
cosponsoring with Chicago Action Media and perhaps friends at Kartemquin, Chicago Cable 
Access, Women in the Directors Chair, Chicago Filmmakers, Buddy, et al. Let me 
know if it's ok if I get busy. We'd shoot for a target date of spring/summer.
