I haven't felt a need to respond on this issue till now --

I can appreciate the work that Elizabeth has been putting in with the
calendar and with tech stuff in general.

Offhand I figure that if much effort is required on Elizabeth's (or
anyone's) part to administer the calendar AND it happens to be partially
redundant with the CCAWR calendar, then we should consider a different
approach.

Would it feasible to encourage people to post their event notices to the
newswire and then copy-and-paste the links (URLs) to them into a simple text
file, which would be available at a 'Calendar' link (on the CIMC site)? It
would seem to be minimal effort on someone's part and relatively
uncomplicated.
