[CIMC-work] screenings and thoughts on promotion

if that weekend of screenings happens in january, that sounds like something that would be of interest to like, a million groups/newletters/newspapers/bloggers, etc. so a pr release to mainstream media outlets might be a good idea this time. politics aside, a few words about it in the Reader or something might have a positive effect on the turnout.

so what i'm also saying is that this is a huge opportunity to promote the hell out of it and then promote OURSELVES to a wide audience we probably wouldn't otherwise reach. to touch volunteer opportunities for the video group as well as writers, photographers, people just interested. 

Might also be a good idea to follow up some time in february/late in january with a general indymedia information session, where people who have signed up on our volunteer lists can ask questions about us and how they can help. make it easy and accessible and let them talk. we could just have it at our office. i would be willing to organize that. it would be nice to promote that at the jan 16-19 event.

also, this might be a good time to look into (again) translating our center column into spanish. a few other sites do it, can we ask them how they did it?
