[CIMC-work] Letter draft re: US-IMC

Ian, and all,

What's missing here is reference to the discussion about IMC-US which took
place at the last meeting.  In that discussion, considerable concern was
expressed about several aspects of the effort.  I don't have notes of the
discussion, but the concerns included:

1. US IMCs were not consulted about syndicating their feature stories in the
"wire" of a new site.

2. The folks putting the IMC-US together have shown similar lack of
    accountability/respect-for-cnsensus in previous actions.

3. the stated intent of IMC-US is to make more room for non-US content, but

    the probable effect may be that US viewers will bookmark the IMC-US and
    disregard global.  US viewers are exposed to some international content
    under the present arrangement.
