Cipro-Resistant Anthrax Bioweaponry

The University of Illinois at Chicago won
the largest grant in its history--to use for developing weapons of mass

to develop a strain of <A

resistant to the antibiotic

(cipro).

This development of such a strain has raised serious ethical and
security
questions, and is moreover <A

violation of longstanding international
law (including the 1972 International Biological Weapons Convention
and the 1925 Geneva Protocol).
