CAJA is urging a boycott of all Coca-Cola Company products due to Coke's repressive labor practices in Colombia and because of the signing of the exclusive marketing contract between Coke and the University of Montana (UM). Send Coke a message that you will not tolerate its continuing violation of human rights in Colombia, nor do you approve of Coke's use of the University of Montana as a marketing tool. Tell Dennis Anderson, Montana Area Manager of the Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Montana that you are boycotting all Coke products as a form of protest and will encourage your friends and family to do the same.

Your message:
Dear Mr. Anderson,
I'm boycotting Coca-Cola products because of Coke's violation of human rights, undermining of public education, and environmental destruction. Coke's insatiable thirst for profit represents one of the worst examples of corporate greed and violence.
In Colombia, Coke bottlers have unleashed a brutal campaign to reduce labor costs. Plant managers have allowed and encouraged the right-wing paramilitaries and government security forces to threaten, detain, kidnap, and murder union workers. Seven union leaders have been killed and 65 have received death threats. The bottlers have replaced union workers with temporary employees and contractors, many of whom earn just the minimum wage of $120 per month, don't receive benefits, and have no job security.
In the U.S., Coke is taking advantage of the inadequate funding of public education by paying high schools and universities to promote and sell your products. The administration of the University of Montana has sacrificed its educational mission in exchange for $300,000 a year from Coke. The corporation has a monoply for the sale of beverage products; can refer to itself as a "sponsor" of the university; and can use the university's name, teams, logos, and mascots in its advertising. Instead of fostering critical thinking, the university is promoting the thoughtless consumption of Coke.
The largest Coke plant in India (in the state of Kerala) has been accused of putting thousands of farmers out of work by draining up to 250,000 gallons of water a day from the aquifer used to supply their wells. The Perumatty village council cancelled Coke's license to operate because of this overexploitation of water resources, but the company has not complied with that order.
I refuse to support the violation of human rights, undermining of public education, and environmental destruction. I am boycotting Coke products, and I'm encouraging my friends and family to do the same.
