hi,

this has come up several times.  one more prominent time was during the fbi
fiasco (www.indymedia.org/fbi or /legal for more information).  when the fbi
and cia basically came to the seattle imc wanting the logs from the server
hosting all the quebec/montreal/ftaa sites and 2 million pieces of
information about the activist world.  yeah right.  they claimed there was a
death threat to the president's life.  all our attorney's who have worked
with us in the past say when there's a death threat, it is wise to pull it.
what kind of news is that anyway?

i haven't heard back from eff folks yet since yesterday but david burman,
the local constitutional/first amendment attorney here in seattle recommends
pulling it.  he was on the fbi case with eff and ccr (center for
constitutional rights).

i think it is a good practice to do so.  especially when people point it out
to us.  we pull things from archives because people ask us to.  what's the
difference?

perhaps we'll get some u.s case precedent....from eff.
