Very nice block, great graphic. I fixed some formatting stuff in the 'protest
the symposium' link (story id 30747) and added info on their Tuesday protest.
I had a long conversation with Katherine Albrecht tonight -- their legal
agreement with the ACLU precludes any independent press work on the first
amendment issue, so she w/cold-call some outlets and reporters I suggested separately
re the rfid issue on her own tomorrow. Her personal politics are grounded in
conservative libertarianism (and on a parallel note, Christian conservativism,
which is a bit of an oxymoron, but whatever), but she's pretty damned savvy
and eager to pass advocacy of the issue along to progressive and left-wing
groups that can raise the issue in their corners, as well. She tells me that
CASPIAN has tried to be careful about keeping their project narrowly issue-specific,
as a way to dodge the inherant contradictions, and that this has worked
pretty well so far, with a particularly warm reception from other indymedia
projects they've approached.

OK, I guess since John Conyers and Bob Barr can politely collaborate in
efforts to derail the Patriot Act, there's plenty room for more of this. Politics.
I love it.
