I spoke with our friends in Madison and they reported that the Reforming
Media conference (11/7-9) MIGHT be worth registering one person.

Specifically:

  a. the conference itself is being built around a number of "star"
participants -- as you can see from its promos

  b. their model of "reform" is akin to the Feingold campaign-finance
"reform" and is focused on legislation, etc.

however...

  c. there WILL be a number of progressive media folk there -- ala Amy
Goodman, etc -- and there may be some lively activity. Other
progressive media folk are coming from all across the country and thus
some good things are sure to happen outside the conference, if not also
     inside.

After that conversation, I'd suggest that CIMC enable one person to
$register$ and plan to go there with more people to participate in the
surrounding activities. (I myself would like to drive up.)

What do y'all want to do?
