I'm just forwarding this to the list--just in case anyone is interested.

I realize CIMC has already declined participation--but might be
something
worth covering. (Just forwarding) -- eliz

CHICAGO ROLLING THUNDER'S eNEWSLETTER
Issued: September 20, 2003

A. Introduction
B. Commentary
C. Special Announcement
D. Conclusion/Contact Us

A. INTRODUCTION

We are Chicago Rolling Thunder...a group of progressive activists
dedicated to supporting and communicating to the Chicago area
progressive community, some of the many activities happening on a
local and national level. We aim to provide you with resources,
connections and information on organizations that are working on
issues important to you.

B. COMMENTARY

We hope you enjoyed and found valuable our Democratic Primary
Candidate Profiles in our past issues. As you may have noticed, we
did not put out an eNewsletter in August. Why not? We are busy
planning and organizing activities for this coming October and the
upcoming election year.

The Democratic Primary Candidate profiles we published became the
seminal inspiration for wanting to do much more for the cause of
educating and registering voters to defeat George Bush and his neo-
conservative agenda in November 2004. We gathered some of our old
crew and are organizing a new event called COUNTDOWN TO 2004:
Reclaiming Our Democracy, Thunder in Beverly. (See Special
Announcement, C.)

This neighborhood Thunder is a scaled down version of the original
Down Home Democracy Tour of 2002 and our plan is to roll Thunders
into the neighborhoods of Chicago registering voters throughout 2004.

We are serious, we are psyched and we are Rrrollling!

Recently, while planning our Thunder, we actually had some
preliminary talks with Jim Hightower to get another Down Home
Democracy Tour coming into Chicago next year provided we can garner
enough support, and with Dubya's agenda, I don't think that will be
too hard to get!

So, in the meantime, whet your appetite for the big one by supporting
our neighborhood events. Our first Thunder is this October and we'll
keep you posted on the location and date of the next one.

Don't forget to check out Jim Hightower's new book, "Thieves in High
Places".
