Dear, dear people:

My concern regarding the video group consensus process is related to the fact
that the monthly Chicago Independent Television Show represents CIMC as a
whole, and ALL of us at Chicago Indymedia. The success, future, and harmony of
CIMC should ALWAYS come first.

All of the working groups -- writing, photo, video -- are part of the CIMC
nucleus. Although the different groups have separate meetings that relate to
their respective projects, we must remember that we are, in the end, an entity.

In the spirit of fairness, we should ALL have a say in what the various
collectives decide when it comes to an important and highly visible project.

We have witnessed what has resulted from other IMC disputes, and we should be
able to learn from their mistakes.

We are all volunteers here, and I want to believe that the reasons that
brought us together have not been personal interests/agendas, but rather a desire
to contribute to the task of revolutionizing the MEDIA in a way that will
benefit the largely un/underrepresented segments of the national/international
population, and exposing the facts and truth the way it SHOULD be done.

As stated in the CIMC mission statement, the General Collective is "the nuts
and bolts of Indymedia, grounded in the spirit of progressive political
change, committed to organizing democratically by consensus."

PEACE!
