Hi !

I am Romain from the IMC Paris.

Some of french speaking IMCs (existing or in creation) (Paris, Lille, 
Marseille, Genève, Liège, Bruxelles, Nantes, Clermont-Ferrand, Toulouse, 
Grenoble; some from Quebec wanted to come but was not able to), meet an 
agreement on the creation of a mailing list titled 
"francophone at lists.indymedia.org".

This mailing list is designed to be a work space for all french speaking 
indymedia (francophone == french speaking in french), and the title is 
very explicit.

We submitted this request to the listwork group, and the creation was 
denied, telling us:

"i've some concerns about the creation of this list, especially due to 
its name, the historical track due to french jacobinism (no kidding, 
check out france.indy for background), etc.

as ppl from all european french-speaking countries where present at this
meeting, i think it would make more sense to create a imc-europe-fr@ 
list or something."

After, people tell us to pass by the process group... So, this mail.

In fact, I (and other people) do not understand why our creation request 
was rejected, and why it is possible...

So, we ask to the process work group how to ask correctly to create this 
mailing list.
