Subject: [Imc-chicago] upcoming indymedia regional gathering

greetings,

i'm trying to get in touch with active members from each imc in
northestern north america.  june 4-6 there will be a regional indymedia
gathering and we'd like to spread the announcement and invitation far and
wide.

this gathering is a chance to get together with the people sustaining
independent media centers in dozens of cities across northestern north
america.  over the last 5 years we have worked hard to create websites,
newspapers, films, and radio shows that provide a non-corporate
perspective to a wide range of issues that are ignored by the old
mainstream media.

from the 4th to 6th we will gather at ymca camp wa wa segowea
http://www.wawasegowea.com/ to celebrate how far we've come and share our
vision and hope for the future.  the camp is located in a beautiful and
remote lake location and there will be lot's of great outdoor activities
to enjoy.  cabins are available and there will be collective meals.

the national conventions and the protests planned around them will be one
focus for the weekend.

i hope this invitation can be extended to anyone in your collective that
might want to come.  please announce it at your local imc meetings.

if you want to help organize some part of the gathering join imc-nena at
lists.indymedia.org and introduce yourself to the list.

we're encouraging people to pre-register or least give us a call and let
us know how many people from an area are coming so we can better prepare
the food and facilities.
