I'm not sure I agree.

What an intern needs is merely an opportunity to learn and
some evaluation after the internship.  Are there enough people in CIMC who
could guide her learning?  Are there office and field tasks which would 
be useful to CIMC and a learning experience for her?

Certainly it would depend on what her goals are.  I hope she does come to
the meeting.
