Meeting Notes
=============

8 February 2004

Website Redesign and Info Page
------------------------------

Selling T-shirts. $15 including postage? Through PayPal perhaps.

Emily and Ian are going to look at it on Tuesday after 8.

In the Other Press -- move to the bottom. Provide a link down.

We'll add a auto-responder on imc-chicago list. We should redirect
chicago at indymedia.org to imc-chicago at lists.indymedia.org.

CSF Recap
---------

Mary Zirker<sp> was looking for feedback from workshop leaders. Rita
needed more time dedicated to specific disciplines -- i.e., split
into several workshops. She wanted people to be ready to actually go
out and cover stories. Or, we could simply try to introduce
Indymedia, what it's about, etc., and not try to achieve as much
skill training.

(and there were some other points I didn't get down...)

M20: Radio and Preparations
---------------------------

Promises to be a big demonstration. There's a convoy from Springfield
of 500 people, for instance.

Mitchell is interested in a live internet radio show for M20. The
streaming radio in Miami/FTAA was helpful, also legally important.
Thomas would like a convergence center.

We're going to look into the Indymedia infrastructure for this.

Center Panels / HTML
--------------------

Mitchell will post update (probably not center panel) about CAN
TV/RCN dispute.

March 16th Democratic Primary. John Grut<sp> is interested in doing
this sort of research. We could solicit comments from our
readership. NYC has some sort of alert button. We're not interested
in Presidential primary (well enough covered, probably won't
matter). The Fitzgerald seat is more interesting.

Interest in putting up a center panel for Indymedia TV.

Editorial Policy
----------------

We're putting off discussion for now. The battle of Truth versus
Justice will have to wait for later.

Gender and Diversity Panel at Loyola
------------------------------------

M24, 5-7pm. They have invited us to lead an event as part of Women's
History Month. Thomas is interested in bringing in Hasta Cuando.
Thomas needs to confirm the panel by tomorrow (F9). We have a $1000
budget. Street Level and CMA were also brought up.

Student Organizers: Education not Empire
----------------------------------------

Planning protests on M4. Local school actions throughout the city,
with a convergence downtown. U. Chicago planning a WMD scavenger
hunt. They're looking for some coverage.

Photo Group
-----------

Sunday, F15, 4pm, Garth's place. Chili at 5pm. Come as early as
noon to learn photo stuff.
