hey gang, i want to draw your attention to this article by
Chicagoan C.J. Laity,
http://chicago.indymedia.org/newswire/display/36321/
index.php
Mostly check out the comments left for him and his return
comments.
1. Should 'J' be hidden? He raises some points, then
throws in a personal insult. If it was just the personal
insult, there would be no question of hiding it. Yet, why
are we tolerating it? It's not necesarry. A part of me
suddenly feels like we would be censoring every little
thing, but then I'm also tired of apologizing for my
oppressors. I've a good mind to hide it.
2. Subject matter of C.J.'s article is not local to Chicago.
But if we start putting Chicago authors on the local wire,
we will get in a grey article. We can't prove by article
content if author is Chicagoan. I'd rather make the
decision based largely on Subject matter. His concern I
think had more to do with falling off our short Elsewhere
wire after too short of a time. I left a note informing him
of plans to extend wire.
ciao,
garth
