Money matters aside, we had an outstanding event on Friday.  Thanks to
Emily for the T-shirts and buttons, Thomas for moderator duties, Garth and
Rita for a great food arrangement, Dick for the salsa, Chris G. for giving
a great speech, and Don for giving me a ride home after the event.  'Twas
a fun event; we simply *must* do this again.

In other news, I went ahead and bought a new answering machine for the
collective.  It has remote checking feature (so you don't have to visit
the office to learn about our messages), and includes a date AND time
stamp (so we'll know exactly how negligent we are--but with a
remote checking function, I'm hoping we'll be a lot less negligent 
with checking our messages).  I'll learn how the answering machine works,
and I'll bring it to our next general collective meeting next weekend.
