La Convención Nacional Republicana (RNC)en Nueva York que será entre el 30 de
agosto y el 2 de setiembre será un evento enorme e importante. Además, gente de
indymedia de varios colectivos están trabajando en organizar una cobertura para
estas protestas y esperan una respuesta policial a la afluencia de unos cientos
de los miles de manifestantes. Este pedido liberaría hasta 3,000 dólares en los
fondos de Indymedia  para ser destinado expresamente para apoyar producción de
información y la distribución (tanto durante como después del RNC).

 El ímpetu de esta financiación es para  asegurar que la Información se difunda
