Chris,
Nessie may be agreeable on most of his views on the
issue of what is a Zionism, etc., but the issue with Gehrig
is dead. chill. resolved.
There's nothing even to discuss on the Gehrig issue. It
was resolved when one of S.F. IMC acknowledged a
spammer could have been using Gehrig's name, which
was Gehrig's claim.
Nessie is dragging it up because he is trying to shift
'blame' from S.F. IMC on the Indybay conflict to another
issue. Nessie has demonstrated himself to be an abusive
personality, belittling many people on the list, let alone
Indybay.
Nessie has actually become more silent as others on the
list have become frustrated with S.F. IMC's stonewalling of
a conflict resolution process. Indybay is still without it's
URL, amongst some other things they were supposed to
get after their first mediation process with S.F. IMC.
In my view, it stinks of an abusive power tactic. Like a
divorced father withholding alimony even though his
children are without shoes.
I object to this behavior and I wished more people would
call them out on it, Nessie in particular. One cannot use
the IMC community only when it suits them, and
denounce it when it does not. Solidarity is a two way
street.
I don't know the cure for an abuser, but I do know the first
step is to stop cooperating with them, and to not be
manipulated into their games because you are a 'nice
person'. Been there, done that. If you notice, there has
been a shift in his tone both times I have confronted the
abuse, neither time was I objected to.
As to the view on not getting involved, I say shame. I have
been following this list long enough. To not say anything
is to be complicit.
Also, Chris, as this email is specifically to the CHICAGO
list, I would appreciate you not cross posting to US
Process, as that is a different audience.
Garth
p.s. perhaps T.Y. can give some
input to dealing with abusers?...
CIMC,
I categorically agree with Nessie on the entirety of what
he says, and urge everyone to read his full text, at the link
below.
Chris

The conflict between SFBay IMC and SF-IMC, and David
Gehrig's having worn out his welcome at SF-IMC, are two
separate and unrelated issues. Certain people, Gehrig
himself apparently among them, are attempting to
confuse you by conflating them. Don't fall for it.
The conflict between SFBay-IMC and SF-IMC shouldn't
even be being discussed here. We have been asked
repeatedly not to. SF-IMC apologizes that y'all have had to
listen to problems that are not your own, and sincerely
hopes that SFBay-IMC will show the common human
courtesy of joining us in refraining from further inflicting
our conflict upon the readers of this list. If you want to
talk, talk to me. If you don't want to talk to me, don't talk.
if you want a third party to relay messages, that's OK, too.
But either way, please stop annoying these people and
disrupting this list.
Gehrig's having worn out his welcome at SF-IMC, on the
other hand, is most relevant to this list. Unlike the SF-
IMC/SFBay conflict, it actually does effect everyone here.
It effects all of Indymedia. It particularly affects
Americans, because Zionism is primarily America's fault.
We foot the bill. Our money buys the weapons. The blood
is on our hands. The world knows this, and the world
hates us for it. It behooves every American, especially
IMCistas, to at last take the right side on this issue, and
stand against oppression, by denouncing Israel for the
oppressor that it is, and denouncing its apologists for the
enablers they are.
