[CIMC-work] you should come to the meetings, chris k.

Let's get a handle on our editorial actions. I propose, first: that we
consider reissuing individual passwords for each person who's monitoring the wire.
That allows for individual accountability, should someone be called upon to
explain editorial decisions, while also allowing for individual empowerment from
the larger group to take care of business on the fly. Second, I propose that
we adopt the following policy on 'delete' vs. 'hide': "Posts that violate
CIMC's editorial policy will be 'hidden'. CIMC collective members with access to
the editorial function also are empowered to 'delete' material under only the
following circumstances: a) when the original poster has requested that an item
be 'deleted'; b) when bandwidth issues dictate that posts, particularly of
media [video, photos, audio] that did not load properly or that are clearly
designed to attack, disable or otherwise render inoperative the site should be
deleted. Third, I propose that the techs consider mechanisms to tweak our code to
reverse the prevailing situation, in which it is actually physically
easier/simpler to 'delete' rather than 'hide'. 'Hiding' should be simpler than
'deleting', simply as a means to enhance our ability to do our work. Techs, is this
something that is in the realm of the possible?
