Robert, Thomas Y., CIMC,
Robert, I have to take some exception to your characterization of our
editorial position as being "dogma." I really hope you can appreciate that
we, as a progressive news organization, have interests in maintaining an
atmosphere on our site of news-oriented posts, preferably from "grassroots"
sources.
I agree entirely with co-editor Christine Geovanis' comments to you, here:
chicago.indymedia.org/newswire/display/37547/index.php
Your first post was primarily about using CIMC website space for the
purposes of advancing a political candidate's position -- it was not
primarily news-oriented.
chicago.indymedia.org/newswire/display/37491/index.php
This post of yours, by contrast, actually included news, and is still
present in the main newswire -- not subjected to our "censorship," as you
put it.
chicago.indymedia.org/newswire/display/37583/index.php
Perhaps you will find it meaningful that the CIMC does not abide by
editorial policy that is 'politically expedient,' but actually devotes its
efforts to providing an open-publishing site for the self-participation of
the greater public.
Chris K.

The lessons of the past few days in Spain must be studied carefully by all
those who wish to understand the nature of the period through which we are
passing. What has occurred in Spain will tomorrow happen in Britain, the USA
and every other country. We must be prepared!
