I support following Emily's lead on this. If she can work something out with
the space so we don't get robbed next time, that would be nice, but if not,
let's not use the space again. I talked to the booker briefly last night as
well, and while it's clear that she's very committed to her musical acts, which is
fine, my sense is that we're just an audience generator and a cash cow (ok,
maybe cash calf) for the bar. I mean, if I'm paying 5 bucks for a shot of
fucking whiskey, I want it to go to something besides straight-up profit.
On the other hand, I want to give massive shout-outs to Emily and everybody
for organizing this, because it was truly excellent to kick back after a hectic
weekend, watch some tapes, jeer the cops, cheer our side, and hang out with
our pals. We SHOULD try to do this regularly; every month would be great.
