[CIMC-work] Another Agenda Item

Hey all, 

Another agenda item for consideration. Preparations for CIMC coverage of the RNC protests in NYC, August 27 - September 2.  

While I don't think a lot of time should be spent on this item during the meeting, I think it might be a smart idea to identify those members of the collective who might want to be part of a RNC working group...as well as those collective members who are planning to go.  This involves a little long range planning, but given the truly massive projected turnout for this convergence, and the resources that we'll need to develop will necessary to get CIMC video, audio and website volunteers there, secure housing ( already tight - see websites below ) and production facilities/equipment, we probably should get started.  As things shape I think we can expect literally hundreds of IMCistas from around the world to decend on NY to cover this, which will no doubt put a considerable hurt on existing NYC-IMC resources.  It also looks like CCAWR, MWU and other local Chicago groups are in the initial stages of planning for Chicago contingents to the RNC.
