Tom,
Base building is great and a goal worth pursuing (including building
our support network across communities of color), and I do what I can
to help in those continuing efforts, but time is of the essence here. I
think we should run with this story; in some respects, we already have.
Example: The message included in the alert already went out the Chicago
Media Action mailing list, which has more than 500 people on it, including
a lot of people of color (I know because I helped gather a lot of the
emails on that list).
