It's an interesting point -- you're not the only one who's expressed

I'm certainly open, anytime, to discussing any IMC-related issue, and
this is a serious suggestion.
Off the top of my head it seems like it should just be a procedural
issue of first specifying an alternative, then raising global support
for it on IMC-Process.
I can't say that I have a definite position on this issue myself, but
I'd appreciate additional thoughtful input.
