I agree wtih Don that we should use the editor logins rather than the
administrator login. That way I can't muck up the coding. Chris K also
brings up a good point about accounting for individual actions.

Several issues here.

1. We had agreed that hiding and deleting would be done via individual
login's so that they could automatically be logged and attributed. This
has not been done by most editors, who have instead (mis)used the
"Default
    Admin" account.

2. It is NOT necessary to be an "administrator" in order to edit, hide,
delete, or purge an article or feature. Being an "editor" is
sufficient. The current list of individually recognized "editors" is
	 Full Name Last Access

	 Default Admin 05/18/04
	 Ian Bicking 03/10/04
	 Thomas Yun 05/05/04
	 Andrew McAvinchey 02/26/04
	 dhgo 05/10/04
	 bookbeast 03/15/04
	 cag 05/17/04
	 dreilly never

Apparently several other people are using the "Default Admin" account.
I propose that _all_ the other editors become official editors (with
their own login names and passwords) and use them. We could then
eliminate the "default admin" account from the "editors" list and have a
(separate) "Default Editor" account for emergency/unusual purposes (name
    Editor with a new/different password).

So, if you wnat to be an "editor" (of other people's articles) please
send me your preferred login name and how to reach you with your
(temporary) password. You could then re-set your password to something
    private.

3. There are currently only three "administrators" -- Ian B, Don G, and the
"Default Admin" -- who can access the "framework administration" menus.

Since being an "administrator" is unnecessary for most activities (other
than site maintenance, etc), I propose that anyone who needs to be an
"administrator" be specifically added as one -- and we DO need more
techies to help administer -- and the "Default Admin" account be
locked up (since it's not needed for editing).

Can we reach a consensus about this -- especially about the past agreement
in #1 above and the need to make people explicitly "editors".
