well,
this is the Indypendent Media Center, so one would think that it would
promote projects that are MEDIA related and are INDEPENDENT and
interesting, according to the editorial collective. So, if there's
substantive editorial value to the "Washington Interns Gone Bad: Rough but
Funny Parody that Hits Close to The Hill" review or report on the screening
with background, etc... then I would say hell yeah feature that mofo.

And ChuckO, if you made some media of creative interest, the DC-IMC
should/would feature it, too. I'm not in support of you being "asked to
leave" the DC-IMC... that's a good one, sounded like a joke. But
disruptive, baseless, from-the-hip-on-a-trip statements usually get
interpreted as FILTERable noiZZZ.

Embedded in your comment, however, may seriously be a worthy discussion
about who and how the editorial collective of this IMC makes decisions. I'd
like to see some honest discussion and critique of *that* process,
personally. But you need to wise up and present your criticisms in a
coherent and respectful manner with evidence and reasoned argument. I, for
one, am waiting to understand how the great armchair critic, ChuckO, has
come to ask the global IMC collective to "audit" this group 'from the top'
because of "sexism" and other things you cite, when I didn't see you at the
sexism workshop or any of the recent meetings of the group, meetings that
involve a re-structuring that you could really help share, perhaps. How do
you have any idea what's going on and who's making decisions?

You wrote, "I'm one of several DC media activists who are fed up with
problems in the IMC DC, which range from lack of transparency to sexism to
cliques to the passive approval of slander posted on the newswire against
IMC DC activists." How come you have not raised any of these issues that
you claim are happening at a Editorial meeting, or on this editorial list?
Did I miss something? I'm not saying the newswire isn't full of bullshit,
but so's the street corner and that's what the Newswire is supposed to be
like... Are you really saying you haven't participated in using the
Newswire to defame activists with whom you used to work? You could really
help the "transparency" issue by making *yourself* visible, and acting like
a part of the group instead of an adversary.

Most people would probably hope I'd just ignore you, but I don't think
that's fair.
peace,
rupert
